Vert measures your vertical jump from video you film on your iPhone. The video never leaves your phone. This page says what Vert keeps, what leaves the phone, who handles it, and how to delete it.
Your clips are stored on your iPhone only. Vert measures them on the phone and never uploads them. Your jump numbers, your answers and your training log stay on the phone too.
This website and the waitlist
This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics. It is hosted by Netlify, which handles the standard request data any website receives, such as your IP address, to serve the pages.
The waitlist form is run by Tally. When you join, Tally collects your email address and anything else you choose to answer on the form. We use it to tell you when Vert is out and to invite you to test it, nothing else. Tally's own policy is at tally.so/help/privacy-policy. To come off the list, use the link in any email from us or write to support@trainhops.com.
What stays on your phone
- Every clip you film. Stored in the app on your iPhone. When the clip library is full, the oldest clips go first and your numbers stay. If you turn on Save clips to Photos, a copy goes to your Photos library too.
- The measuring. Finding takeoff and landing and working out the height all happen on the phone.
- Your jump numbers. The height of each jump and the timing it was worked out from.
- Your setup answers. When you were born, your sport, height, what you are training for, your goal, your training days, and any pain you report.
- Your training log. Which sessions you finished.
- Your Sign in with Apple ID. Kept in your iPhone's Keychain.
If we add syncing later, so your jumps follow you to a new phone, only the numbers will sync, never video. This page will change first, and the app will ask you before it starts.
What leaves your phone
- Signing in. You sign in with Apple, and Apple handles it. Apple gives the app a user ID, and your first name if you choose to share it. Vert does not ask for your email address.
- How the app is used. Product analytics through PostHog: which screens are opened, what is tapped, and whether a jump was measured or refused. PostHog can also record a session replay, which is a drawing of the app's layout, not a video of the screen, with images and anything you type masked.
- Crash reports. Through Sentry: the device model, iOS version, app version, and what the app was doing when it crashed.
- Purchases. Apple takes the payment, and we never see your card. RevenueCat receives the purchase record from Apple and tells the app whether your subscription is active.
None of these include your video.
What we do not do
- Upload, store or look at your videos.
- Sell your data, or share it for advertising.
- Show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.
Age
Vert is for people 13 and older, and setup asks when you were born to check. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, write to support@trainhops.com and we will delete it.
Deleting your data
In the app, open Profile, then Delete account. That deletes everything Vert saved on your phone: your answers, your jumps, your plan, your training log and your clips. Deleting the app does the same, apart from the Sign in with Apple ID in your Keychain, which the next sign-in replaces.
To have analytics or crash reports about you deleted, write to support@trainhops.com.
Deleting the account or the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in the app under Profile, then Manage subscription, or in your iPhone's Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, for it to be corrected, or for it to be deleted, at any time, wherever you live. Write to support@trainhops.com.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes and the new version is published here. If a change affects what leaves your phone, the app asks you before it takes effect.
